2026

Rooting down together.

Many people want their children to learn a wide range of skills, including musical instruments, sports and science at primary school, but will the traditional culture of tea art become a choice for modern parents to consider? Whether it is for further education or to satisfy their own parental vanity, some say that the tea art can help children to become more determined...

Out of interest, we started a dialogue on the Internet, inviting professionals from the tea industry and the education sector to discuss from their own perspectives whether tea art would be a curriculum skill worth considering when choosing children's education and talents. Even overseas cultural transmitters are trying to let foreign children experience and learn Chinese culture through the leadership education of Little Tea Man.

There are several courses that are usually recommended for novices and beginners to get into tea learning:

  1. Attend more tea parties (Experiential learning, drink more to accumulate experience)
  2. Tasting and Evaluation Courses (Systematic Learning)
  3. Hands-on & Brewing Courses (doing secondary school)
  4. Basic Tea Theory (Available in paper, digital teaching materials, and physical seminars)
  5. Practitioner Courses (training specifically for business)

These are all easy-to-find tea courses in the market, and although the Tuan Gongzi team offers them all, I hope that those reading this article will always stay on top of learning from different perspectives and knowledge systems, and will be able to switch to different teachers to refine their own tea grades.

The most recommended course is to attend more tea ceremonies and tasting courses, where you can get a lot of olfactory and gustatory experience of tea leaves. Compared to learning brewing, tea ceremony and boring theories, having a lot of tasting experience first will enable you to understand the face of tea flavour more effectively, and it is also the best way to learn.

We've compiled a list of nine popular course templates!

Updated annually since 2016, the latest teaching materials are available at different levels to meet the needs of beginners, advanced learners, and entrepreneurs. The default audience is the average consumer, and the content focuses on the questions faced in daily life, making it easy to understand.

Each type of seminar can be offered as a series of courses or, depending on the needs of the organisers, a number of courses can be drawn out to form a smaller series of seminars.

Modern Parents・Tea Craft・Children

👉Q1, What are the reasons for me to let my child learn the art of tea? Is there any meaning and purpose behind teaching tea to children?

  • Views of relevant operators in the tea industry
  • Advice from Education Industry Experts
  • Thoughts of Chinese Culture Bearers
  • Future Parents' Expectations for the Post-1990 Generation

What does the tea industry think?

  1. Those who are in the tea business are willing to try to expose their children to the art of tea. If the children like it or not, it is a worthwhile test, and the experience will make the children more stable.
  2. In tea-growing families, they will consider letting children start playing with warm water, and can treat the tea set as a kind of family wine game. Gradually develop the feeling of drinking tea, and one day the child will tell you that she wants to drink tea. After learning to imitate what adults have done, the child can make a cup of tea by herself and feel a great sense of achievement.
  3. More than the tea ceremony and the tea art, I would like children to learn about the origins of tea, including cultivation, production and manufacturing processes, so that they can learn about the origins of tea and get in touch with nature, and understand why the world loves tea so much, so that they can understand the source of tea in order to keep in touch with the world in literature and history.
  4. Generally, if there is a habit of making tea in the family, the initial threshold for children to learn is low, and it is a very convenient talent choice. The learning process of the child can improve the sensitivity of taste, and can start to learn to taste and appreciate the sense of beauty from a young age. We can see that there is a kind of fun in making tea for children, and it is beneficial for children's growth and progress.

What does the education sector think?

  1. Meditation training is a very useful training, as much as possible to allow children to learn when the steps are small, follow the steps to learn, movements lighter and slower, can be effective for children to break down the steps when the interaction, there are different ways to learn visual, tactile, auditory way to let the child find his or her own good talent.
  2. It is possible to search 🔍 'I can' is the feeling that a child can know for themselves that they can do it, that they are capable of doing it only if I am willing to do it.
  3. Prepare colouring pencils and knives for the children. Tea and dim sum are great activities to bring the children closer to the culture. It creates a sense of mission and makes the children want to do a good job, and at the tea ceremony, they can maintain the interaction between responsibility and treating others well. In recent years, we have begun to use the tea ceremony as an important way to teach Chinese to foreigners.
  4. From the children to taste, to drink to be able to, but the current school of tea art may not be suitable for children to operate, but let the children to learn the science of tea, technology, social operation methods. The ability to set up a tea table, colour scheme and space configuration may start from the tea art.

An extension of Chinese cultural values?

  1. Learning the art of tea is not just about tea. It is a direction of Chinese cultural heritage from the four arts of the literati. Making tea is a relatively easy way to get into the art.
  2. Allowing children to learn the art of tea for foreign children can open up the five senses and five senses of the children, from the four arts of the Song Dynasty can be effectively expressed, generally allows children to feel the self-consciousness of meditation, and can be driven from the children's learning to parent-child interactions, extended to the love of Chinese culture, or from the musical instruments to allow children to learn the Chinese language.
  3. Attracting people to come in for a cup of tea, learning about the world from a child's point of view, exploring life from a child's perspective, and bringing a different mood and experience to the adults themselves.
  4. The heritage of Chinese culture, the use of tea to share tea with Westerners, the ability to identify with Chinese culture. Emotional management lesson plan, through the tea party training, can make oneself more able to share and interact with others.

Tea ceremony ritual, art or spirituality (from Anastasiia Krutota)

👉Q2, What do you think is the difference between a "tea ceremony" and a "tea art"?

  1. Tea art is closer to Chinese culture, and the term "tea ceremony" is closer to Japanese culture, and in Taiwan, the tea art has been developed in the form of double-cup brewing.
  2. It can be divided into three parts: technique, art, and way. All of them have the same technique, but everyone's finished product is different, and only on the basis of technique can we have our own style.
  3. The Tea Ceremony can be like a spiritual practice, and the Tea Art is a cultivated aesthetic ability that can be achieved through the Tea Art.
  4. In Taiwan, tea is often regarded as an art of living, presenting the beauty of the art of the tea broth and naturally reaching out to the culture of the masses. The Japanese Tea Ceremony is akin to the artisanal spirit of the tea ceremony, or the Korean Tea Ceremony, where etiquette is the main theme. The Tea Ceremony is more of a spiritual symbol of norms.
  5. Tea art and tea ceremony, there are different realms of technology and art, tea people have different realms: craftsmen, artists and their own style. The tea ceremony is a more profound realm, with the insight of life, and the mind of tea.
  6. In Chinese culture, Taoism and art are one and the same, a kind of literati art.
  7. Nowadays, the tea art is related to the experience of the beauty of the tea broth, which belongs to the period from 1970 to the present.Kung Fu Tea CultureThe Extension.

Picture books may be the way to educate your child

In FY2022, invited to theDepartment of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan UniversityI came to talk to the students about the history of tea, the analysis of tea literature, and the six tea families. From the perspective of a researcher, I have changed to a speaker. The things I need to prepare and the way I look at things have changed a lot, but the only thing that has not changed is my passion for the tea industry. It is really exciting to spread the tea culture to young people, and I look forward to giving them a deeper understanding of the tea culture and the opportunity to become our partners in the industry in the future.

Tea culture is not going to disappear, it just needs to be preserved in whatever way we experience it together. I believe that all my friends who follow me have their own deepest memories of tea. If you would like to share your memories, or join us in promoting tea culture, please leave a comment below, everyone's power is the driving force to make this industry better.
